Leg Update

This morning I went to the orthopedic surgeon for a check-up. They took my cast off and I got new X-rays, which they said looked alright. I got a shiny new pink cast and it’s much more snug than the last one (presumably because the doc did it himself this time). In two weeks I’ll get a big, plastic boot that I’ll be able to remove to shower! I am so excited about this. And, in five weeks I’ll have the surgery to remove the screw in my ankle. This second surgery was originally supposed to be sooner but the big break is healing a little slower than they expected.

I had Doug take some pictures in between the two casts…

No, those aren’t stitches in there. The stitches were taken out three weeks ago. I think the scar is going to be pretty nasty!

Here’s the other side of my leg (where they put the screw in). It looks much better, but you’d be surprised how much this one hurts!
